At SMDC, we are committed to bringing world-class health care close to home for our patients. The SMDC Clinical Laboratory oversees laboratory operations in clinics and hospitals throughout Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin to ensure that everyone in our region has access to high quality resullts.

Duluth Clinic Pathologists and laboratory supervisors throughout the region work together to ensure standardized instrumentation, policies, and procedures at every affiliated lab. Tests that are not performed at individual sites are sent to the main lab at St. Mary’s Medical Center for processing and analysis. That means you receive consistent, reliable laboratory results no matter which site you visit or where your tests are ordered.
