Child
& Teen Check-Ups
Regular check-ups lay the groundwork for a healthy life. During these visits your Pediatrician or Nurse Practitioner does a thorough physical examination. They also make sure immunizations are up-to-date and provide health education to you and your child. We check to make sure that your child is reaching developmental milestones at the appropriate times so they can get help early, if needed.
These visits also help establish a trusting relationship between your child and their doctor. This foundation allows your ill 3-year-old to take comfort in seeing a familiar face, and your 13-year-old to feel comfortable enough to ask important questions about teen issues.
Immunizations
Vaccines have played an important role in controlling infectious diseases that were once common in this country, including polio, measles and mumps. It is important to make sure your child is up-to-date on their immunizations, because while these diseases are less common these days, the viruses and bacteria that cause them are still around.
Our staff provides parents with a vaccine information statement for each shot to refer to at home, as well as an updated shot record. We recommend www.immunize.org as a good source for more information.
