As a parent or caregiver, you can give your child comfort and a sense of control during medical procedures that he or she may find stressful.
Comfort positions help a child feel secure and be comforted by you. The idea is that you are hugging your child instead of holding him or her down during a procedure such as an examination, a shot or a lab draw. You're also taking an active role in your child’s healthcare experience.
