The role of a pediatrician is to monitor your child’s normal growth and development through regular visits and well child check ups. Here's how we help you as a parents every step of the way

Resources for parents. As a Pediatrics Department, we're dedicated to giving you access to all the resources you need as a parent. You'll see this dedication in every interaction you have with our staff. We make sure you always leave your appointment with educational information to care for your child and help them make healthy decisions.

Pediatric Nurse Advisor hotline. This unique hotline is much-loved by parents of our patients. It gives you direct telephone access to our Pediatric Nurse Advisors simply by calling (218) 786-3400. Our nurses are available to take your call every weekday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and they're happy to answer any questions you have regarding the health of your child. And since they're right in our department, they can consult with your child's pediatrician whenever necessary. Our Nurse Advisors live by the philosophy that "No question is a dumb question" when it comes to the health of a child. They understand that parents sometimes just need a friendly, empathetic voice. The nurses use standard protocols based on the latest science and best practices to answer your questions.

Extended appointment hours. To meet the needs of busy families, we have extra-long appointment hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. Because life is unpredictable, we also leave openings in our schedule for last-minute appointments. 

Access to an array of other pediatric specialists

If your child does end up needing more specialized care because of something more serious, we offer access to the most extensive network of pediatric specialists and sub-specialists in the region. Our more than 30 pediatric specialty physicians offer an unparalleled depth of experience to our community. They are fellowship-trained in a variety of pediatric specialties — concerns as diverse as diabetes and allergies to behavioral health and cancer.

Working in tandem with the over 100 pediatric providers within our system — including family physicians, therapists, dietitians, child life specialists, social workers and others — these physicians provide extended pediatric services unmatched anywhere in the region. The whole team shares a special passion for meeting the health needs of children.
