You are in good hands when you visit our Cardiac Cath Lab. Our team’s daily experience in a fast-paced, busy environment makes them well-qualified for the important work they perform. More than a dozen patients visit our Cardiac Cath Lab every day — representing a broad spectrum of conditions that require critical thinking and technically challenging procedures.

• As part of the SMDC Heart & Vascular Center, we attract some of the best and brightest interventional cardiologists in the world. They work as a team with our experienced cardiac nurses and cardiovascular technicians — quickly and competently diagnosing and treating your heart conditions.

• Cardiac Cath Lab technicians are the photographers and primary assistants during procedures. They run the X-ray and monitor equipment. That requires a full understanding of the heart’s anatomy and interventional procedures so they can anticipate and respond to the cardiologist’s needs.

• Our Cardiac Cath Lab nurses are among the most experienced staff in the hospital. They have years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, plus they are critical care certified and trained in advanced life support. They provide you with moderate sedation, administer any medications, and help keep you comfortable and safe during your procedure.

• We are ready to respond — day or night. No matter when a call comes in, we can have a Cardiac Cath Lab team ready and a room set up for a procedure within 30 minutes. That's important: the faster your blockage is cleared and your artery is opened, the better your outlook for a long and healthy life.
