Monitoring and Care in the CICU

Personal care is very important in our CICU. Typically, no more than two patients are assigned to each nurse. Patients are monitored continuously in their rooms and at the nurses’ station. The types of monitoring equipment we use include:

• Cardiac monitors
• Automatic blood pressure cuffs
• Oxygen saturation probes
• Central intravenous lines
• Swan Ganz catheters
• Arterial lines
• Intra-Aortic balloon pumps

CICU care also includes respiratory support, restraints, and pain management. We approach each case individually and customize our nursing services to meet your needs.
